Cpt Will Esmeralda is a character in Nether Diary. He is the captain of the Main Unit Company who is sent on a mission to eliminate hostile threats and closes the portal once and for all.

Will is a tall and bulky man. Without his helmet, he is black skinned with brown eyes and a Mohawk.

Early life[]
Nothing is known about Will's life prior to or as the portal opened, except that at some point he joined the military and reaches the rank of Captain.
5 years post apocalypse[]
Captain Will Esmeralda is assigned to lead the soldiers on their mission. Some time after that, Will and his squad marches to exterminate a herd of zombies. A group of skeletons appeared behind them and shot their arrows, injuring Will and killing all his squad members. Will accidentally uses his remaining ammo to shot down the skeletons. The remaining zombies behind him is getting closer, a Combat Robot with three soldiers appeared and killed them all, saving Will. The three soldiers rushed to help their leader, but a Reaper appeared and decapitates them. Will attempted to shoot the Reaper, but he had ran out of ammo. He fired a Stun Grenade at it, allowing the Combat Robot to finish the entity off.
Will is later seen with another group of soldiers and two Combat Robots, having reached the Hell on Earth Zone. Will and his squad is commanded by his superior to eliminate any hostile threats and to try their best not to die. A Watcher appeared and roars to give a signal to other entities. Will killed it, but it was too late. It's roar had triggered Beelzebub, who killed all his squad members again and destroyed the Combat Robot, leaving him alone.

Abilities and powers[]
Will had demonstrated leadership qualities by how he was chosen to lead the Main Unit Company. He was also able to lead the team until they reached the Hell on Earth Zone, which is considered difficult. The General also seems to trust his abilities as a soldier, telling him to try his best not to die.
Will were able to use a Pulse Rifle, a firearm only available to soldiers of higher rank. He has a very high pain tolerance and durability, able to continue even after being shot on the knee with an arrow.
